Attention Current Juniors - Class of 2026
The health and wellness of all students attending Wellington Exempted Village Schools is a top priority. We want to ensure that students are up-to-date with the State of Ohio required vaccines to provide a healthy environment within the schools and the community.
Before students enter 12th grade, they must have received two doses of the meningitis vaccine by age 16 or one dose if the first dose was given after age 16. Contact your medical provider or make an appointment at Lorain County Public Health (440-284-3206) to receive the required vaccination.
Once you have received the vaccine, provide a printed record as proof of vaccination to the WHS office.
Thank you!

Johnnie Kinter Signs To Play Division 2 Baseball
Posted by Amy Sword on 2/6/2025The Wellington Exempted Village School District is pleased to announce that student-athlete Johnnie Kinter will play collegiate baseball with a scholarship. He signed his declaration of intent to play baseball at Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio.
Kinter shared that he is “looking forward to the competitive level of play at Lake Erie. I am thankful for my dad who has coached me since I was four, and to Coach Davison. I’m speechless. They worked hard to get me to the right camps and showcases and in front of the right coaches. Baseball has always been my thing and I’m excited for the future.”Coach Dan Davison commented that “Johnnie has always worked hard and been self-motivated and always put in the extra work.” His parents, Stacey and John Kinter, shared that “Johnnie has played all positions throughout his career and has good speed and arm strength. He’s mainly a pitcher and middle infielder.”Athletic Director John Bowman stated “Johnnie worked extremely hard to earn the opportunity to play Division 2 collegiate baseball. He balanced extra workouts while playing three high school sports. I’m glad that his hard work paid off!”
Principal Shyla Urban expressed how proud she is of Johnnie. "To achieve a scholarship to a division 2 college while maintaining high grades and competing in three sports is impressive. We wish him the best as he represents Wellington on the collegiate baseball field." Johnnie will play this spring for Wellington’s baseball team. Congratulations, Johnnie!
